2. LOCAL POLICE AREA COMMANDER

Superintendent Rory Freeman has taken over as Local Police Area (LPA) commander for South and Vale LPA. He replaces
A/Supt Jim O’Ryan who will return to his role as Deputy Commander at Milton Keynes. I would like to thank Jim for all the work he has done wityh DOGWATCH in his short tenure as LPA Commander and for the effort he has put in with the fight against rural crime in the area. We wish him well for the future.

3. HARE COURSING

The hare coursing season is now in full swing so please keep an eye out for the people conducting this activity. They tend to  cause a great deal of damage in the process by driving over crops, through gates and fences. Their activity is not confined to coursing hares either. On 4th December, a reindeer was killed and another seriously injured at a petting zoo in Hampshire. Five lurchers and a cherokee jeep (VRN M795 HPA) were seized by the police following a short pursuit but the occupants escaped.
